Ronin
You have (although I don't know if that's a good thing or not). :) The gambit of benchies will be run when the lappie gets here, don't worry. :)
Ronin
Laptop will arrive tomorrow.
Bill
Since you guys might not know, Mr Ronin here just recently has been selected as the first non-Nvidia mod (or whatever you call it) on the official Nvidia forums. :) :) http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?act=Stats&CODE=leaders Also Ronin, if that RAID setup does not do you good, I can reccomend some nice IDE laptop HDDs. Please use HDTach for HDD benchmarks, as that is what we use and is a good way to compare results, you can of course post or reccomend other HDD benchmark software. Once you get your RAID setup going, try and beat my Hitachi 7K60 for starters. Bill
®®®
When did that happen? The last time i visited he was a regular member, though i already noticed a wise writing style, i could use some of this :) , but we have Larry for wise words, so nothing is lost :) Congratulations Ronin! Ronin
Thanks, Bill, and @@@ :) Atto is another HD benchmarking tool, although the information it provides isn't quite as intuitive. I'll be doing: 3DMark2k5 3DMark2k3 3DMark2k1 Aquamark3 Sandra (CPU, Multimedia, and Memory) HDTach (for Bill) PCMark2k4 Any other requests? ®®®
:) Are you sure you have an LCD Display and not a mirror? :) I like that there's numeric keypad on the side. Mine has none, but for the new *BIG* one laptops is seems to be standard now, isn't it?
Ronin
So, I have to ask, before I install them. What drivers do you suggest (for the card, obviously)? :)
®®®
What do you prefer? Larry's Benchmarks would give a nice overview of which one is fast and aslo his opinion words are more than readable. Go here: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showforum=11 and pick a driver :) GF 6x00 GPUs should be fine with 7x.xx drivers i think, but i have no real wolrd ecperience as i'm on a GF4
mobilenvidia
So, I have to ask, before I install them. What drivers do you suggest (for the card, obviously)? :) Best thing is to send the Laptop to me, I had better install the drivers :) Stability 67.02, newest 67.65, 70.78 seems to be getting good results (driver found here first), 71.50 latest 7x driver. You can use any modded INF higher than 30.20 when I added support for the go6800 (back then called the 6800go) I'm envious of any one that can get a 3DMark 2k5 score nearly twice as high as my 2k1 score. Ronin
This is for Bill :) First one is the short test, second one is the long test. Also, with no defragging at this point.
Ronin
2997 Stock 2k5 run. Still working on the OC run. :) 4167 Not quite done yet, so we'll see if I can take #1 away from the guy on the Orb (who's currently 70 points higher, with just a hair higher core). 4236 1 point off now. Rawr!
mobilenvidia
I've modified the Benchmark chart as I doubt those other scores were done non overclocked. :) I'll only add scores with from the 3DMark website so I can keep an eye on the clock speeds. Your go6800 is clocked @250/600 it was supposed to be 300/600, I wonder if nVidia rushed these first ones out to beat ATI ? There is supposed to be a faster go6800 coming out (might coincide with Eurocoms D700T (clevo MB/Chassis a less potent D900T)) in february ? Nice scores so far :)

The 2k5 score that was listed above by the other guy is an OCed one, so... :)
mobilenvidia
The 2k5 score that was listed above by the other guy is an OCed one, so... Well looking at your score they must be. Your Overclocked score matches their scores so I can safely deduce that they must have overclocked. The only MB available with a go6800 at the moment is the Clevo D900T so all laptops are born equal at this point. These new go6800 must be underclocked. I've also changed the GPU Info page to reflect your default GPU speed. Makes the score of 3000 even more impressive. And yes would love to see a 300/600 score as this will probably be the new go6800 default (will probably just be a VBIOS change)

mobilenvidia
Slow down, I can't keep up, new score posted. :) Don't burn out your GPU before you have at least had it for 1 hour :)

mobilenvidia
What model is your Gateway Solo, this would have to surely be your best machine ? Is there a Laptop you havn't got in your arsenal ?
Ronin
I believe it's a 600S. I don't have all the laptops listed, because they're scattered about, but yes, this is the best I have thus far. I have 4 others that have the 9700 Mobility, and I refused to get a XPS (although, I have played with one some).
Ronin
4346 Very small bump. But it's the last one I'm doing for 2k5. I think I've found the wall.
