mobilenvidia
Made INF, now I could do with testers to try it as it has a new feature. From now on the INFs will have international support if the driver has the files to enable it.

Guest Jim C
Hey, great site for users. I'm new to pc's, and I'm trying to get my new laptop to run with your 72.01 drivers. I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 8x DVD-RW, Windows XP Pro SP2, GeForce 6800 Go Mobility, 80GB HDD (I think it spins at a lowly 5400). I had installed MSFS 2004 (aka FS9), and noticed that the card was running like caca. It was very slow, and the frame rates were abysmal, so I checked on the specs for the 6800 Go and realized that I probably should be getting some decent frame rates out of this card. Anyway, after messing around I found out that I had inadvertently deleted the original driver, so now the card doesn't seem to work at all, and I can't figure out how to get these things to work. I have downloaded nvts, nvdm, 7201, nHancer and that other file from MS, but I don't know how to install any of it. On my Mac, I have added RAM, flashed a video card BIOS, changed out a hard drive, added RAM and a host of other miscellaneous stuff to it, but Windows machines are a whole different animal. ANY help would be greatly appreciated... Regards, Jim
®®®
You just need the DRIVER and corresponding INF for an installation. Extract the driver somewhere and remove (delete) any .INF files in there, then put in the INF you downloaded from here (nvdm.inf). Pls. read the instructions for recommended installing procedure in the FAQ or on the frontpage ( http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/pages/instructions.htm ). Wlecome to the world of windows and nvidia, young apprentice :)
Guest Jim C
Hello, again... Sorry if I seem a little thick, but maybe I'm missing something (literally) here... I extracted the 72.03 file in your link, and went through every file in there looking for a driver... There's a "co-driver" in the folder, but I can't find the driver proper... do you think I should try downloading again, or should I maybe take another look in the folder? Lots of help files and desktop nview (or whatever) files, but I can't find the driver... Thanks again for any help...oh, yeah, the set-up program couldn't find a driver either. Also, I seem to be missing a nv4_mini.sys file...Since it's a .sys file, isn't it kind of important? Thanks again... Jim
LSudlow
Jim, it sounds like something happened during your download. I've just downloaded it and everything is there. Give it another try and see if it happens again.
Guest Jim C
LSudlow, Thanks for the advice...worked just fine second time around. I'm going to download nHancer and see if I can get some adjustments to my card...it doesn't look like there's any way to adjust anything on the card (unless I'm missing something, which is entirely possible). Thanks guys... The help is much appreciated! Jim
Guest Anonymous007
Hello, is there any way to enable "Fixed Aspect Ratio" in the 72.01 driver set? Thanks.
Guest BrnmccO1
^^^ Sure, that's easy. Just a little more complicated that the older drivers. First, click on the nView display settings tab; then click the Device Settings tab, then finally, the Device Adjustments tab. Click on the appropriate button, apply, and you're done. I like this driver better than the one Dell shipped w/my Insp 9300. (The fixed aspect ratio would always revert to monitor scaling upon re-boot with the 67.xx driver).
