H4ck 3D
Thanks Pieter! I'm going to give these a shot since they seem to be the newest set out right now.
mobilenvidia
Oh yeah the latest with SLI fixes as well. Geesh it's been busy this last week, a buffet of drivers. I'm too busy uploading to even test them my self. Will have to try these ASAP.
H4ck 3D
I found two eVGA 6600GT's buy one get one free. If they honor the deal I'll be building an SLi setup soon. I wonder if these are the ones with the new control panel people have been talking about?
H4ck 3D
They appear to have the same CP as usual. Now, time to play some games and test them out :)
mobilenvidia
There is a new CPL file with the driver, have a play with this. May need to be copied in to the \Windows\system32\ dir. Good luck and get back with your results, I'm running it now. My GF2go in SLI mode is awsome (ouch my nose just hit the screen :) )
mobilenvidia
Once you extract the folder and have installed the driver. Have a look in the directory where the files were extracted. Right click on a file called nvtuicpl.cpl then 'open' it. You now have a new control panel that is completely different from the normal one. This also works with 81.33 and 81.40. Copying it to \windows\system32\ seems to not bring it up in the control panel. Have fun playing with this and report back here with findings. H4ck 3D
Ah you're right the new CP is here! Had to double-click nvcplui.exe in the driver folder. It's actually a lot better than I expected it was going to be. There are still a couple bugs to be worked out but looks great so far :)

Bill
You guys should post pics of it up. (of the new control panel) Don't overdo your SLI OCed setup there Pieter. :) :) Edited October 1, 2005 by Bill
Kamika007z
I installed these drivers using nVidia's base INF to see how it's like. So far, it reminds me of the 78.05's. Lets hope they start optimizing the 80 series for us forgotten lappy users :) *P.S. - Also, no scrollbar for the powermizer function yet, and no new control panel installed. If I want to use it, I have to run it from the folder itself.

Guest Pistenko
Anyone found where one can enbale HDTV output in this driver? Cant seem to locate any settings, that will give me more than 1024x768 output for TV. (using S-VHS or Video Out).
LSudlow
No good for me. I play a lot of Morrowind and the pixel shaded water doesn't work at all with these drivers. The new Control Panel is clearly a work in progress but shows great promise! I can't wait until they get this fully functional. Kudos for the discovery!! :)
Guest Pistenko
Please repost 30.88 inf file. i tried the 30.90 after having no problems with 30.88 at all. stupid me as the 30.90 loced up my system completely after firts rebootafter innstall again. had to boot in safe mode and remove drivers. rundll32.exe will eat all available cpu and twinview.exe also... link to old inf again please :)
mobilenvidia
Use the INF from 81.40 that is 30.88 still, Im on my testing partition now and can't upload anything. Life goses on with INF modding, I have the control panel now on the taskbar. I' upto 30.91 now with this. But I can't get the OCing page to show, how did Rewt do that ? Guest Pistenko
Already grabbed the inf from 80.40. Once thing tho. Now when I run the new cpl i only get 3d settings. before reinstalling with the 30.90 inf i got all the settings in the new control panel. Not even after removing drivers and reinstalling with 30.88 are they back. kinda strange.

Guest Peluche
Hello everyone, long time no see. I have give a try to this new version of the driver with no hope of solving the slowdown problem experienced with all version since the last perfectly working 71.89. And a wonderful thing happens ! This version 81.82 of the drivers is running at full speed like the 71.89 with my fx5650 go. Nvidia seems to have fixed the Problem I have experienced in all the version since 75.xx to 80.40 :)
Athanis
Hi. I am trying them on my Dell Inspiront 8600, with Fx go5650, and for the moment, they seem to work quite well, except 2 small details: -playing videos, the screen is blank. If there any solution other that using VMR -in tiger woods 06, they are problems with some textures (other games looks like they work quite well). Any idea? Thanks and good work! :)
Maier
This drivers is very slow on my laptop, fujitsu-siemens m3438. In 3dmark05 the first test begins @5fps normal i get around 20fps. The first 3 reboots my screen went black and didnt get back

LSudlow
You need to enable VMR in both the driver and in whatever video player you use.
