I copied and pasted from 81.85 but something went wrong with link updating.

All fixed, modded INFs are up as well.

Yeah Baby, yeah!

Hey Pieter, your Inf file is very nice, now!

It works also after reset with Pal-B, many many thanks.

But now the negativ, 81.87 again doesnt work with Amilo 3438 Geforce 6800go.

3Dmark2003 made 2789 Point, normal is 8600 with 78.11, by me.

@Maier

I tried your 81.33, but first i have graphic errors in 3Dmark2003 with it, also the scaling not work, after reset the scaling go back to default and will stretch the picture from 4:3 (1024x768 / 800x600) picture will be 16:10 (1440x900).

That scaling is very ugly, but the biggest problem are the graphic errors.

Now i use Pieter's INF version 31.05, together with 78.11 driver.

That works very fine, and Pal-B will save.

I'll update 81.33 INF to be the same as these latest ones.

This is a 81.8x driver problem, it must default with slower core/mem speeds :)

I don't have any problems at all with the 80xx or 81xx.

On my laptop with GeForce Go 6600, these drivers make nvsvc32.exe crash with a "memory could not be read" error at shutdown.

Disable it in services.msc from Run command

@Pieter (mobilenvidia)

Soory, but the problem isnt your Inf file, also your Inf file cant repair the problem in 81.33 driver.

First problem ist the Graphic error, you can see it in my uploaded picture.

Second problem is, that the save function in scaling not work.

Both problems be problems by nvidia for Amilo 3438 with Geforce 6800go, its not a problem by your Inf.

HKR,, RMMaintainDevs,                %REG_DWORD%,    1

Add this to the INF this is supposed to store the TV settings into the registry instead of the SBIOS trying to remember them.

You'll need to as always reinstall the driver for it to take affect.

Give it a whirl.

The scaling problem was fixed by nvidia self. in later driver versions.

Ok, maybe you can help with the scaling problem, but do you have seen my Graphic Picture Upload?

Who should fix that, problem?

Nvidia did, but then we get the performance problems.

I also testet driver 78.82, that driver hast also the performance problems. i get 2765 points in 3dmark2003. Normal is 8600.

I'm running a Toshiba Satellite 5200

P4 2.0gb

512megs ram

NVidia geforce 460go 64mb

So far I've had no luck finding a driver that will work on my machine. The above driver just says that the software is not compatible with my hardware and exits before it installs.

Is there something I should be doing to make it work other than clicking the setup.exe ?

Thanks in advance.

Just updated from an older Dell driver to this release (just found your site, awesome btw=) and went from 9000 3dmarks (03) to 9800. Nice improvement. I run at 350/700 manual overclock, I find it gives a good performance boost without getting too hot.

Keep up the good work!

If you have a 6800 ultra card- these 81.87 with mobilenvidia's PE inf. will take your notebook to a new graphic level. Very nice indeed! :)

Where can I get this mobilenvidia PE inf?

Or do you mean the one that can already be found on this site? (as in, above).

Guest Neovenator

Hey folks, I'm a complete noob here, so I hope you don't mind my questions.

Yesterday I installed Quake 4 on my Alienware laptop with a GeForce FX Go5700. When I tried to run the game, it would resize the screeen to 800x600, go black for a moment, then return to the old resolution and disappear. I tried manually switching the res to 800x600 and running it, but it still crashed.

Just now I installed the drivers this thread is for (for XP, not the XP 64) and tried again, but it still crashes. I've tried everything I can think of, including updating drivers for everything on my machine and updating the bios on my motherboard and video card, but nothing is helping.

I suspect the video card is to blame, but I have no way to confirm this.

How can I figure out if my video card is at fault here?

btw, my computer meets the min. specs for this game, and then some.

Am trying the 81.87 drivers on my Sager 9860 Nvidia 6800 Go.

The only ADVERSE effect is that every time I power off, I get a memory address error.

I didn't write it all down but it says something like ...

"The instruction at 0x004080d6 blah blah 0x00000008"

something like that anyway.

I'm not seeing, so far, any other problems, but this is a bit aggravating. Is there anything I can do to correct?

THANK YOU.

I laso have a Clevo D900T -- same as the Sager -- and get the same nvsvc32.exe read memory error. Also, I have an Aver TV Tuner card in my lappy and I can no longer pick the 720 x 480 resolution nor can I set the Destop Background as TV. I know this is a driver issue because when I uninstalled the 81.87 driver, used Driver Cleaner, and then reinstalled the original drivers everything worked fine with no problems on shut down and also no problems with the TV card. Do you have a solution? I can send you a copy of the old inf if you need it in order to add in whatever is missing.

One last thing, I do not have the temperature tab in any nvidia driver I've tried. I have the NV41 in my lappy which I thought had a temperature probe. Any suggestions in getting a temperature read out of my GPU?

Thanks for all of your help!

-- Alex
