HP announces new mobile workstation

HP's Japanese wing has launched new mobile workstation for the business market: the HP Compaq nw9440, powered by Intel's latest Core Duo processor and features dedicated mobile workstation GPU.

7.5 pound nw9440 model comes equipped with a T2300E (1.66GHz) processor in its base configuration and can be had with up to a T2600 (2.16GHz) processor. Maximum memory support is listed at 4GB while up to a 100GB 7200RPM hard drive can be added if you wish. The 17" display (1680x1050 or 1920x1200) is powered by a 256MB NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M GPU. The usual suspects are present in the form of a Super-Multi drive, GbE, 802.11a/b/g wireless (Broadcom based in the base model, Intel based in higher spec trim), Smart card reader and a full-size keyboard with built-in number pad. The nw9440 can operate for 4.5 hours on its 8-cell battery.

The nw9440 starts at $2,259 USD in its base configuration.
