sandman55
Hi, I have a Toshiba M15-S405, 1.4 Centrino, 1GB Ram, Geforce4 420Go 32, WindowsXP SP2. Bios, XP etc all with latest updates. Re-installed 77.77 yesterday & decided to check in System Information. All was well after re-boot. After a full shut down & start-up, Sys Inf reported the card as 16M. A quick check with PC Pitstop showed the card WAS returning a lower score! Another re-boot & all was back to 32MB! Is this unusual & will it possibly happen again? (I tried both the update driver & clean uninstall/reinstall methods after this with the same results). Two other quick questions - any way to update the card BIOS? What is the 3rd column marked NFO in the driver downloads section? Should it be downloaded somewhere? I searched around the Forum but found no info (Excuse the pun!) on it - as far as I see it, only the driver & modified .inf is needed. Thanks in advance for your time Sandman Edited June 27, 2006 by sandman55

sandman55
Hi ®®®, Thanks for the info - I totally missed that NFO topic, even though it was right there in front of me! :) The 1.50 SYSTEMBIOS is definitely the latest for the M15, so I guess the VBIOS is also as "up to date" as possible with this old but loved Tosh! Ah well, always good to ask! Yeah, about the 16MB/32MB readout - there is definitely a 32MB card under the hood, I just thought it was wierd how the computer itself would see & run it as a 16MB card just after the first full start-up, and not again (I've done several full start-ups since to test, and it reads 32MB every time)! Thanks again for your time & the info, Viele Grüße Sandman
