mikey2006
Hi All, I have a Sony laptop with a Nvidia GeFORCE FX Go5600, with 64 Mb memory. I have a simple question. Is it possible to upgrade the memory of this or is it possible for it to be made to use shared memory? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. Fabrice Roux
No... it's not possible to do either a memory upgrade or a "shared memory enlargement".
mikey2006
Thanks Fabrice for your reply. :) Looks like I will be buying myself a new laptop................ or maybe an upgradeable Desktop instead!
Fabrice Roux
If mobility has little to no use... get a desktop... it both less expensive and you can upgrade over time.
zipper
No... it's not possible to do either a memory upgrade or a "shared memory enlargement". . .excluding some diehard hackers; I've seen benchmarks for go5700 with 256 MB memory... ®®®
Yes around 2 years ago a german guy living in Hawaii reported back here with a succesfull RAM Upgrade of his 5700 in an Alienware if i remember correct. It was solderered. There's even a benchmark somewhere hidden the forum or at Pieter's old Benchmark page.
