Blue lines and no boot after driver install

Hi guys,

Just wondering if any of you could help me out of this pickle.

After installing 9.xx driver for my Nvidia Fx Go 5700 card for my Hp zd7000ea laptop it no longer starts. Instead of a boot screen it displays 64 thin, vertical blue lines in the centre of the screen then reboots repeatedly. It doesn't respond to bios commands nor does it boot from the XP disc.

Have any of you guys seen this or know how to fix it?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jason

AFAIK there are currently no mobile OEM that release a 9x.xx driver. Those driver are still under development for desktop GPU. There are a lot of side effects that can be encountered with those drivers.

I invite you to read the FAQ Recommended driver. You'll see that the optimal driver for your graphic card is the 66.77.

If you want to fall back to the previous driver either use the rollback feature of Windows XP or boot in safe mode. (hold F8 while your PC boots) Then go to the control panel, add remove programs and uninstall the nVidia graphic driver.

Hey man,

Thanks for your reply. Guess I jumped the gun installing 9.xx, just went for the latest version - DOH!

Will try the F8 thing tonight.

Thanks again.

If you don't succeed to trigger the boot menu with F8... you can still reset the PC while it boots... (but it's the dirtiest way to do it) :)
