Guest Alpha
Hi, I've a Toshiba Satellite 5200-802 (bought on eBay few weeks ago) with a geforce 5600 go inside. Yesterday, I had to change the Harddisk due to an failure with it. But now, there is an other failure :P : When I opened the Start/All-Programs Menu my screen suddenly freezed with artifacts on it. After installing Windows again for 2 times :) I found out that it doesn't freeze, when I put my hardware acceleration down a bit. But then I wanted to test a game (Counter-Strike 1.6) the same problem appeared again. So for me it seems as if the Hardware accelerations are broken. But what must I do? Can I be sure that it is the graphicscard? Can I change it? Will it be difficult to change it :) ? Is it possible to insert a bit better card? OK, thank you for your help and please excuse my english - from Germany... P.S. would this graphicscard work: eBay-Link

Some laptops have the VPU attached directly to the motherboard, others have a separate chip. But if you do decide on a new video card, you should send me your FX Go5600 for my mod :P lol. I cant seem to find any chips on ebay :( . Id say go to your laptops manufacturer and buy a video card for your laptop from them if you want to replace it.
