what happens with Final Fantasy XI

I installed these drivers anyway even though 8600M GT wasn't listed. Improvement in-game was massive, not exactly running max FPS in the most crowded areas, but still a lot better than it used to be.

Can this in any way be harmful to my graphics card or computer?

We have a modified INF you know that has support for your card.

You should use that.

Also 169.21 might run even better.

Thanks, those must have been posted while I was testing 169.17.

169.21 installed and working. Gives about same performance as 169.17 as far as my untrained eye can see. Still drop to about 7-8 FPS in crowded areas but an improvement from my original drivers for 8600M GT drivers from Compal. I don't think I will ever understand how the mechanics of FFXI works when they can make a new computer lag.

im not seeing any for vista 32 :) would i beable to use the 64 or is that just not going to happen?
