Strutzy3
Hello All, I have an IBM G41 P4 3.33ghz, 1.5gb ddr2, 128 NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 with AGP4x and i am currently running the original driver that came with the computer when i bought it 1 1/2 years ago. I know that it's time for an update but read up that nvidia doesn't directly support the Go5200? SO i tried 3 newer drivers 2 of which i could find the modded .inf file but neither helped my computer operate Civilization 4 (the reason of my concern bc it runs worse than my gf's integrated graphics card) AND none of the drivers supported my resolution of 1400 X 1050. the max was 13?? X 960. I read earlier in this forum and don't know anything about overclocking or if it's even relevant to my question which is... What is the best driver for my GoForce5200? and where can i get it? right now i am running a driver from 8/17/2004 version 6.2.2.6 Any HELP provided will be greatly appreciated. LSudlow
In my experience, the best driver ever made for the Go5200 is 67.66. The only reason to use anythiing newer would be to solve a specific app or game incompatibility. Just extract it into an empty folder and replace it's inf file (nv4_disp.inf) with the mobile version from this site. Use the "have disk" method to install and you should be all set. Good luck with it!
