It's not our driver it's NVIDIA's driver, we just modify the install INFs so that the masses can use them. We do NOT modify any other files or add them, delete them in any way. You should always run a driver cleaner before installing a new driver as NV's uninstaller doesn't remove the files just the registry entries. Hope this clarifies the situation, you'll not get huge performance boosts from newer drivers as nothing was added to the driver to make it faster. Driver updates add new features or fix problems. TnT_FlaTLin3R
could u link me a good driver-cleaner? if i run a driver-cleaner and install an older driver-version, are there only the files of the last installed driver present? Fabrice Roux
but if these driver cant damage my pc, why do u need to mod the inf? why does nvidia not support all gpu's? Because every OEM does his own homemade soup with GPUs... The most obvious is when the same core is used to do Quadro and entry level GPU. nightfox
I can't get this driver to work on my GeForce Go 7900 GTX.I think it is the "Go" part or something. I get a statement that says that it could not locate any drivers that are compatable with my hardware. Help - Thanks First, you need to use the INF file supplied at the top of the page, otherwise this driver will not support your computer. The inf adds support for your Geforce go 7900GTX and my Quadro FX 2500m (the Quadro version of you card). Second, I suggest running Driver Cleaner from Driver Cleaner Web page. You may want to copy/zip up the driver your dell came with first, otherwise XP will often try to grab your old driver automatically. Finally, make sure you at not running Windows XP SP3 - but rather SP2 Driver seems to work fine for me as well as for the person with the go 7900gs Edited September 25, 2006 by nightfox
vortex-5
I just tried this configuration on a DELL inspiron 9400 / e1705 geForce Go 7800 the drivers work fine but even though I try to copy over the dell specific customizations the screen fails to shutoff when you close the lid. Has anyone found a fix or is experiencing a similar problem?
DeLaguna
oops this belongs int the 32 bit 92.91 drivers sorry..Done. ®®® yes I am back after so long,,, I don't know if you missed me but I had gone back to oem drivers until tonight I decided to crack the alienware/clevo d900t driver issues.. well I suceeded in making a inf that will install the 92.91 driver. I haven't found any issues so i will upload it for you to use at your own risk, it combines the modified inf from here and some tweaks/settings from alienware, and me. enjoy.. it was made specially for the 51m 7700 with Go 6800FX or Ultra card. Perfectly stable on my system. hope you enjoy pm me if you have questions. :) nv4_disp.inf Edited October 23, 2006 by ®®®
GrogN
Hello. I spend a lot of time trying to get some very useful tweaking windows that I see here in my nForce driver properties, but without success. :) I try drivers 84.63 & 92.91. I use http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/enhancer to get correct .inf file. Also I check nv4_disp.inf by myself. I check registry, .inf files and a lot of treads here, but can't find solution. Everything look like described here, but not working. Can anybody help me to get this nice tweaks working: 1. Thermal scale 2. Coolbits value http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/images/nvcpl...re_settings.jpg http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/images/nvcpl...cy_settings.jpg I have only underscan ratio tweak working now. ®®®
If it doesn't work, it's not your fault, but a VideoBIOS lock by Toshiba. They don't want you to OC and mess around. You're not alone here. This is a known phenomena since GF 4xxGo.
GrogN
Ok. But I don't want to get thermal trotting & extreme overheating on my GPU like I get yesterday just surfing net. It look like fan fail to start for some reason & temperature slowly rise more than 115 degrees Celsius. That fact show me that I have to do something to adjust thermal trotting that settled now to 115 degrees to 85-90 degrees. My old 440Go newer have this overheating problems (no fan, no heat sink) that I get now, and I already find that same problem was reported in notebookreview forum, but they suspect mainboard BIOS as I can understand. Can You, please, explain me once again, this lock in MXM card Video BIOS or mainboard BIOS? I think that I can replace MXM BIOS by non locked version. For reading out the temp of your CPU, GPU and Mainboard you can use external tools like SpeedFan, Everest and what else is floating around...As far from what i read from Ice-T's research ( http://www.MXM-upgrade.com ) there's no MXM card in any Toshiba laptop worldwide. Any question concerning MXM and locked BIOS/VBIOS or the like, post them in Ice T's MXM Support forum here pls.: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?showforum=

I just want to reduce throttle temperature set point, cause I not sure that fan will work nice in future & I like to keep laptop safe running unattended. I think that it can be done throw driver. Anyway, driver itself working fine, except locked features & I will try to find solution.
