Go 7600 in Sony Vaio not compatible: black screen?

Hi

I tried to install the 92.91 and the 91.48 drivers with modded inf on my Sony Vaio Fe21S with GeForce Go 7600. After rebooting I end up with a black screen, just a dark monitor, nothing else.

The Sony comes with the 84.73 drivers. The nvidia tools are missing and no support for external TFT as primary and TV. That's why I would like to install the modded ones - but something on the display would be nice.

Searching the forum did not help... Any clues?

I have quite the same laptop as yours, but I didn't install any modded drivers yet, I will give one a shot these days and will let you know the results :)

In the modded INF there is a setting to help with that:

;if upon reboot after install you have a black screen remove the ';' from line below and reinstall driver.

;HKR,, ModesetBlankDelay, %REG_DWORD%, 1

Just remove the ';', and reinstall the drivers.

Hope it helps
