Night Fire
At a quick quess, I would say its because your default monitor resolution is different to an ini file. Have a look for video.con in the Battlefield 2142 directory under My Documents. Change the resolution in that files to what your monitor is, especially the refresh rate part. More info may be in the Battlefield 2 post beneath this one.
Fabrice Roux
If it's AGAIN the source of the problem... But given the symtoms, it's very likely. I'll whip out my thrusty bullhorn and shout: *turning bullhorn to max power* Dice are fre@king moronic retards!!! ps: they f|_|cked up with Battlefield 1942, Battlefield Vietnam, Battlefield 2 and now Battlefield 2142... Crispy
I have been getting this problem where my BF 2142 Demo will work, but the full retail version crashes as soon as the map loads. This might be a x post from a post I made earlier, but does anyone have any ideas what might cause this?

V-X2
I noticed something with this game, don't know why it happens, but I REALLY REALLY REALLY HATE the fact that i can't use my unlocks in single player(offline) mode.....is it just me or does this happen to everyone....i'm so hoping it does happen to everyone...but just so that i won't feel left out :) :) Well, that happens to anyone who doesn't play the Single Player mode using an online account. One thing I've noticed - if you play the game in Offline mode, EVERYTHING (the menu, gameplay, even the intro videos!) stutters severely. However, there's a way to fix it: 1) in the main menu, click Options 2) click Video 3) change the resolution to any one on the list 4) after the resolution has been changed, set it back to the original one that you were using This tiny little fix has certainly improved gameplay experience offline, though I have no idea why you would want to play it that way. (one workaround to get the unlocks, if you don't mind a -4 on the scoreboard - teamkill a bot with the kit u want, then grab it. Voila! Unlocked weapons :P )

V-X2
... a good driver for gaming for my GEFORCE GO 7400... Well, one that I can recommend to you is v158.45, I'm using it without any problems at all on my own GeForce Go 7300. I've noticed improved framerates in some games, noticably F.E.A.R., and the driver's also quite stable. Click HERE to access the thread with the download link. More information can be found in that thread as well. (I have posted the procedures there as well) Hope that your severe issues with the game are able to be solved. Cheers, V-X2
derek328
I really wanna say good advice V-X2! I've just got my new ASUS F3SC laptop, with a slight OC for the 8400M G & driver v158.45, I was able to play it on 1024x768 with most options on max. My WIE experience index for Aero & Gaming also raised from 3.0 to 3.4, and 4.1 to 4.4 respectively (without OC). :)
