EzE126 Posted October 26, 2006 Report Share Posted October 26, 2006 hey evryone! lately i started editing on my computer. i have an acer travelmate 4152, 1.73Ghz centrino, 1.25gig DDR2 memory and a 128mb geforce go 6200 with turbocache PCI-E. when i use premiere pro 2.0 i have no problem at all. but now i want to upgrade my editing to the pros... i installed avid Express HD and everything seems to work exept the video playback. when i press play i can see the first frame but its freezed. i can hear the sound playing but the picture does not move. i was told the problem could be the driver but i dont know wich one to try. please....................... help me figure out this problem. Well usually, the problems with the "High End" stuff is that it requires VERY specific hardware and software, certainly the original Avid stuff is no different. Having not working with the HD version I can't give you much advice other than take a look at what they recommend, sometimes they will tell you flat out "Doesn't work with this card" and even occasionally they will tell you specifically which drivers you should be using when running that software with your card... Check their site for the info, or just google it, may be a common thing, or of course patch to the latest version of that software and try again, if you haven't already. Sounds like a simple fix anyway. If it is in fact the driver I would just try one old version thats recommended for your card (or a stable one) and then uninstall it if it doesn't work and upgrade to the very latest one, see if that makes a difference in stability and such and go from there. Avid doesnt say anything on graphic card that they didnt test, and there isnt alot they did. every time i try installing a driver older then my driver, windows automaticlly installs my driver again (71.93). i'm realy getting despert.... if there is any way you can help me.... please do.
