Guest Owen
Well, I just tried with the latest drivers (169.21.) It worked at first, giving me the original control panel with all of the original options it used to have including custom resolutions and etc. However, it only works one time. The moment I close the control panel it switches back to the original. From then on, I can't get back to the old control panel even if I try reloading the registry key. I really want the old version back because I miss features such as actually being able to see what temperature my GPU and ambient are for the video card (they force you to use nTune now, but I find that nTune can't even always see my GPU temperature and never can see my video card's ambient temperature -- having just recently replaced a video card where the memory had issues, I really like to keep an eye on this too though...) In fact, I haven't actually seen any features in the new version yet that I need. This^^ Please can someone help enable the old control panel with driver version 169.21! Please help! Guest OgBrog
Ok i downloaded this for my friend who is using driver version 169.21 with a 8600gt so he could use the detect optimal frequencies option and also have it apply the settings at startup, the problem is when i click the detect optimal frequencies button it pops up like 14 error screens saying that "a error ocurred durring the clock frequency test, please restart your computer". Does this happen with everyone? if so is it fixable or just something i will have to deal with?
Guest Pedro
I used the file but now the nvidia control panel isnt showing up... i just wanted to use the classic control panel. How do i do / fix this?
zipper
You must go via Control Panel, Display Settings as the shortcut for NVidia Control Panel is missing.

Guest LarryRocketPants
I had a problem with using a converter box to get s-video to an OLD TV that had only Coaxial input. The new drivers could not auto-detect the signal type or format, and I could not manually set it to what I needed. The registry change and resulting old style control panel fixed that problem right up. Thanks a billion, I have been pulling my hair out trying to find mods, drivers etc. to fix this problem. zipper
Nice to see that years old tweaks still have some use - and do work at least somehow.
