NvidiaFX
Hi everyone. I've noticed a lot of 3dmark06 scores pushing in the thousands. That's great, but i'm not one of them. Even to those comparable w/ my graphics card (Geforce Go 6400) their scores are significantly higer than mine. No matter what driver I install I can't seem to get my score above 250. Currently I have the Nvidia 84.25 driver installed (seems to be the one most recommended). Does anyone have a suggestion on what might be wrong and how I might fix it? Or am I pretty much looking to invest in a new laptop. I have a sony vaio vgn-fs790p. Below are some stats. Fabrice Roux
In the mobile GPU world you need to do apple to apple comparisons... A lot of things are modified by OEMs in order to get match their target price. They lower the GPU core clock, the memory clock, memory quantity, the bus width (evil)... plus with Turbocache cards if you have slow RAM you'll end up with lower results. So you should only compare your results to sony vaio vgn-fs790p users... or 6400 clocked exactly like your gear. One thing you want to check is that the PowerMizer setting is at Max Performance.
