Josh
Okay im a gamer... i dont play games every minute but i like to enjoy high resolution games. (hey who doesnt) or being able to crank up the AA and AF at 800x600. Point is... heres my laptop. ASUS Zsp8100 Pentium 4 3.4GHz 2 Gigs ram 6800 Go (256MB - 325/700) 100 GB Drive (5400RPM) what all can be upgraded... i know the video card can be changed with some mechanical tweaks but what are the cards and their specs. Also i believe getting a 7200PRM drive wouldnt hurt.
smax
You could probably throw anything up to a 7900 GS in there if you make sure the cooling is good enough... Aside from that and the hard drive, not too much. Personally though, I don't think a 7200 RPM drive will give you that much of an improvement. ®®®
It wouldn't hurt, that's true. But don't expect games to run faster/more FPS (what apparantly some think). Expect a much faster boot-time and greater responsiveness within XP and any application start/save/quit as data is loaded much faster. Josh
okay i just made the move to a 7200RPM and bootup and loading comes so much easier. I wasnt expecting a gaming upgrade off that, just plain out windows speed. But i was happy to see that games loading screens are cutting a couple seconds. For the other cards, and for reasoning i cant find any specs for them. Maybe ice tea can help me cuz i am looking and really interested in upgrading. What are the specs for the upgrades (x1800, 7600go, etc) currently as mentioned im 6800 go, 256mb, 325core/700memory clocks
Ice-Tea
Check the benchmarks page on my site. Has the specs of the 7900GS there. Good stuff, but in short suply :)
