Matt Sharpe
Serious problems with UAC on my Go5200. Freezes screen but does not display prompt or grey out screen. I have to guess whether its Left+Enter or Down+Enter.
Torler
Still same dx9 binary's as the 100.40 and the 100.51, but better directx10 than 100.51 :)
HSeldon
Serious problems with UAC on my Go5200. Freezes screen but does not display prompt or grey out screen. I have to guess whether its Left+Enter or Down+Enter. I've had this problem with all of the 100 series drivers. Also, when I go to update my computer score, the screen displays garbage until it finishes. Seems like when it drops out of Aero glass is when the problems show up. dzjepp
is nvidia just scrambling to release a quality 100 set for vista release on windowsupdate hence no 100 set for xp so far? :o

Yes that seems to be consistent with what I am getting (except that I cant get an experience index 'cos Business N doesn't have the required Media Player components). But yeah, when it drops out of Aero, the screen fills with garbage. Edit: After further testing it seems that trying to use multiple screens causes garbage too. Said garbage can be fixed by reboot or sleep/wake cycle. Edited January 29, 2007 by Matt Sharpe

How about disabling UAC altogether? I understand the security issue that Microsoft has with doing this, but the dialog boxes for UAC are just plain annoying. Why could they have not just popped up a user/pass box like Mac? InsaneX
Matt Sharpe
is nvidia just scrambling to release a quality 100 set for vista release on windowsupdate hence no 100 set for xp so far? :o probably, because DirectX 10 is for Vista, and I guess that's what these drivers are primarily for. How about disabling UAC altogether? I understand the security issue that Microsoft has with doing this, but the dialog boxes for UAC are just plain annoying. Why could they have not just popped up a user/pass box like Mac?InsaneX I like UAC, it doesn't bother me and I feel it is important to keep it on. Anyway, if you were a limited user it would pop a user/pass box. If youre administrator, it is even less effort than that, so I dont understand what the matter is? darksquall
All good here too apart from the lack of powermizer and smartdimmer! I noticed that the help files don't say its not avaliable in Vista any more - odd!!
mobilenvidia
Must be preparing for a comeback hopefully with the go8x00 series
veritas72
Edit: After further testing it seems that trying to use multiple screens causes garbage too. Said garbage can be fixed by reboot or sleep/wake cycle. I can confirm that using multiple monitors causes serious issues. After closing out of a game that requires full screen, it defaulted my set-up to clone (should have been dual-view), and would not respond to changing. Computer Potato
Well the Vista Drivers are leaving the 5XXX series cards out of the support. Just 6,7,8 Series are really supported. Adjusting the brightness is much smoother now.
Jason
Where did you hear that? The last product support list I saw said nVidia was supporting 5xxx series: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_32_supported.html Anyway, I just installed this driver on my 5200 and it works. Though it doesn't feel as snappy as the last driver I was running (97.52). I don't have any numbers to support this...it just feels slower. The screen is very choppy, and there are often artifacts displayed when I'm moving things around (like windows, etc.). I haven't test on two monitors yet... I know this is just a nightly build, but - performance wise - this is not a step in the right direction...
