Guest Einar Rosenvinge
Hi, I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 with a Geforce Go 6800 Ultra graphics card. I recently reinstalled Windows and decided to try a driver from laptopvideo2go.com. 84.69 works well EXCEPT when closing the laptop lid. The computer does not go to sleep properly, the GPU fan keeps spinning, and there is no way to wake it up again (black screen, must force power off). Same problem with 82.10. Same problem with 84.25. Now I have the same problem with the original Dell drivers as well, 78.51. The Dell 78.51 drivers used to work with suspend/resume earlier. So, is there any chance that any of those drivers have messed up some registry settings or something, so that the Dell 78.51 drivers aren't cleanly installed now? Any suggestions? Or any suggestions on some other version I should try? Except the suspend/resume problem, all of those drivers seemed to work reasonably well (82.10 had an "illegal instruction error" when shutting down, but it was not obtrusive). BTW, in this fresh Windows install, I used Intel's latest INF installer for the chipset drivers, while earlier, I used the one from Dell. Could this be related? -Einar

I also have had alot of problems with drivers and it would be super duper if someone could post one here perfect for ypur(my) system! Eh, if I press and hold the 'on' button the computer powers off... Seems that it has hung completely. -Einar
