Fixed aspect ratio scaling still does not work.

Hmm, control panel is gone from the right click! I think i prefer the previous build than these.

Noticed glitches along the edges of the screen when playing games in full screen. Think it has to do with scaling? :)

I installed this driver and it is MS WHQL Certificate. I am using 8800 GTS.

Edit:

My games are running smooth with this driver :)

is it me, or are you not using the full potential of your card? :)

I would be so happy if i get quake to run on my laptop when i have vista installed. everytime i start it up tells me something about my card not being supported :)

So my problem with these drivers, along with all the other drivers i've found for vista, is that they drive my CPU usage, absolutely crazy- from 11 to 24 to 57 while running completely idle... has anyone else noticed this effect?

Hmm, are you positive about the drivers causing that problem? Reason i ask is that i've had a problem such as that, and it turned out not to be the drivers, and instead it was that searchindex crap that micro put into vista. Disabled it, cpu usage went back to under 10%. :) :)

That searchindex crap will work itself out over time if you let your system idle long enough for it to index everything... believe me, I was looking at that too :) However, MS wasnt lying about it's new OS search engine; it's significantly better than previous versions.

Yeah actually- i noticed that indexer was running so I disabled indexing for the sake of testing- and still, every 10 seconds or so in games, it hitches horribly, even though it runs fine inbetween. I haven't tried it with more than half life 2: episode 1 though, so i don't know if it's pervasive across all games- but my hard drive access/CPU were still way too high. At the moment, the native vista compatibility drivers for Nvidia with the update that patched them run by far the best for me in any games/applications- no hitching- but crappy performance relative to XP. So i'm not sure what to do about it... every driver i've tried but those have been unplayable because of horrendous hitching. Any suggestions?

Am i installing them wrong perhaps? I've been updating the driver via 'have disk'... and it goes awfully slow, but after nagging me about WHQL certs, it works.

Also, I start getting sound stuttering in my games after installing the new video drivers- it's very strange.
