albinoanteater
Hello all, As you may be able to tell by the topic I'm a (not so happy) owner of a P105-9339. This machine had all the specs of a great gaming system, but is just hasn't worked out for me that way for me. I've been doing a lot of testing on my machine and have upgrade the chipset driver to the latest and used the latest video driver also with no luck. The other day while testing using the new RivaTuner and I was monitoring my Core Temp and my FPS while playing WoW. I'd set down some papers near the exhaust fan with out thinking about it and after a few moments the game started to run perfectly smooth. I looked over my Riva Tuner settings and once the temp had hit 75C everything seemed to work just fine. I decided to test this 4 more times just and each time the core temp rose to 75C the video kicked in to full gear. You can also hear the fans kick up. (this requires setting something near the exhaust fan each time as it won't seem to go above 74C on it's own. I use an empty mug to hinder air flow not stop it like I did the first time by accident) I think I'm on to something. I'm just not sure how to crank up those fans and get things moving smoothly before that point. I have the power options set to High Performance. but that has never had any noticable effect. Anyone else have any ideas? Albino Anteater
jessi3k3
Just coincidence. Someone on the Nvidia forums suggested there's a throttling problem with the PCIe on the laptop and could be fixed if Toshiba would only release some new chipset drivers. I dont know how valid this is but it sounds plausible. I'll try something like you just did though to see if anything comes up.
