Guest Alexandre
Hi, I tried to install this driver, with moded inf, but doesn't works... I tried other versions too, but also didn't works. The original drivers for Vista, apperas this entrances not found in this drive for XP 64: %NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.1% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&SUBSYS_15131043 %NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.2% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&SUBSYS_82651043 %NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.3% = nv_G8x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428&SUBSYS_16161043 and NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G" NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.2 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G " NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.3 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G " Some Ideas? Windows XP 64 Bits Asus A8SC Geforce 8400M G The driver for XP 32 bits doesn't works in XP 32 too..
mobilenvidia
Modded INF has %NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0428 and NVIDIA_G86.DEV_0428.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G" so it should work. try using the update driver method via system properties to install driver
Guest Alexandre
Yeah, I've tried, but "display adapters" doesn't exists in Device Manager, and via Display Setings there are no adapters, so I don't have "update driver" option :) Thanks for help
mobilenvidia
Try doing a 'Search for new Hardware updates' in system properties. This will hopefully then find your GPU as a new device and then you can point it to the driver.
Guest Czenda
I had the exactly same problem. No matter what I did, how I modified the INF, the driver just wouldn't work. I was really desperate, because my MSI EX600 has serious issues with 32bit XP (and still don't want to move to Vista)... until I tried ForceWare X 156.73 for Windows XP 64bit, this one finally worked! Here's the link: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=15642 Thanks !
