SLi = Slower Frame Rates?

Nolan

Recommended Posts

I recently installed Ubuntu 7.04 on my m9700 - dual 512MB Geforce Go 7900GS cards. I enabled SLi, and have found that I get a 30%-50% drop in frame rates with SLi enabled. This occurs with both the nvidia-glx (96.xx) and nvidia-glx-new (97.xx) series of drivers.

Does anyone have any input as to how this could be? I am particularly interested in my performance playing WoW, but I also notice a performance loss with SLi when I am using Beryl (the 3D window manager app).

Any input here?

Thanks!

Nolan

I did read that the problem is for the processor ( even in windows), this theory said that is because is not powerful enough for handle with SLI. It will be better with a dual core processor!!
