Installation on my Dell Inspiron 9400 with go7900 gs 256 mb worked like a dream with the original inf. All automagically: uninstall of old driver, restart install of new driver, restart up and running. No error messages and no need for "have disc" install or safe mode. Now, I just hope it will be stable. After six months with vista and involuntary beta-testing of geforce drivers, it would not be a minuit too soon!

I installed this driver on my Asus A8Js (GeForce Go 7700), and only seem to get 800*600 and 1024*768 as resolution options, instead of the usual 1440*900 that I get with, say 101.28 drivers. Also it just says "standard vga adapter", nothing about Nvidia/geforce go 7700. What could be the cause of this?

Installed on my Inspiron e1705 w/GeForce Go 7900GS. No more BSOD from playing movies, although game performance once again seems to be lagging.

Does anyone know why 84.63 allowed GeForce Go cards to run games so well? The FPS counts were nearly 150% greater than with this current drivers or the other drivers I have downloaded from Dell. If anyone has an answer, or if anyone knows how to modify this current driver to produce similar results, please reply/PM.

Thank you, Op, for the great driver set! :-)

Have you tried the 158.45 drivers? I have been using those since they came out and have had good success... I am always looking for improved performance so am not sure if I will download these new drivers if they are slow.

Maybe a restore point and more guinea piggin!!!!

ZC,

Thanks for the heads up.

I will try the 158.45 drivers and see if those offer a decent performance burst.

I suppose I will need to pop in the modded .inf for those, huh? Thanks once again!

So how did it go, how do they match up?

I installed these drivers and have decent performance in ShadowRun, but am getting audio glitches..so maybe these are using more CPU?

Where did you find these on the Dell site? I have a relatively new Laptop and have been harrassing them for new drivers. I would love to be know if these are beta, or full out released(WHCL) drivers, and if Dell will put any more effort into these cards now that they discontinued this laptop.

Nice guide and easy install. Thanks.

However it still doesnt fix the one problem I have. No open GL support.

I am trying to get Return to Castle Wolfenstein to run on my laptop.

Windows Vista Home Premium. Dell XPS 1210 Core2Duo 7200, 2GB DDR2 667Mhz, Nvidia GO 7400,

Any ideas, or pointers?

Thanks

You guys rock!

Works like it was made by the vendor!

Installed on my Toshiba Satellite M60 without any issues at all. Am achieving fantastic resolution and excellent frame rate on 3d FPS and hi rez MMORPs games!

Well done!
