No SLi for the Alienware m9700 7900GS in this driver either.

These Drivers are actually quite bad on my system, I see a 50% drop in frame rate in pretty much all my games.

They also seem to struggle and go mental when switching between displays.

These drivers are "THE BEST" for benchmarking with a 8600m GT card. All framerates are up, and everything plasys just fine. The "ONLY" thing is that rivatuner/ati tool will not work. These drivers have a bug that does not let them overclock. If this can be fixed, and overclocking enabled.... These will be the fastest 8600m GT drivers to date.

Also..... All of the extra menus are open in nvidia control panel. These drivers have it all. :)

Please look into the non-overclocking. Thank you, and keep up the good work!!!

Guys

I have an Acer 5920 with 8600M GT and Vista 32-bit. I have read many users stating that the 162.18 driver is the best and most reliable driver for my system and graphics card.

However, the driver download for 162.18 (Vista32) does not include a setup.exe file. Now I know that to get round this you need to go into Device Manager and "Update Driver". I have tried this, however Vista continually states that the driver I already have is the best one for my system and I am not able to load the 162.18 driver (or any other modded driver in this way). I tried this both in Normal and Safe mode. I also removed all graphic drivers so only a generic VGA driver was installed but still with no luck.

I have therefor loaded the 162.15 driver successfully as it had a setup.exe file. It runs ok but was still hoping to load 162.18. Is there anyway that a setup.exe file could be added to this driver? Or does anyone have any advice on why I am not able to load drivers via Device Manager?

Thanks

Michael

*SIGH* Here we go again. I've just installed these drivers but I wished I hadn't. Terrible performance. I have a Dell Inspiron, intel 2 core duo running at 2gh with 2MB of Ram and an Nvidia 7900GS running Vista 32 bit. Benchmarking this driver using 3dmark 06 gives me a score of 898 marks. It was the same with 162.22. A mere 896 marks. I followed the usual routine of uninstalling my existing drivers first, rebooting, run driver cleaner and then installing. I think ALL the 162.xx drivers are the same unless someone can tell me different. Once again rolling back to 158.45.

Hmm, your setup's not that much different from mine and I saw a huge improvement over all the drivers I've tried so far. I have a Dell Inspiron 1520, Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 running at 1.50GHz, 2GB of RAM, and an Geforce Go 8600m gt runnin on Vista 32 bit. I didn't bother benchmarking, cause it takes a whole lot of time to do, but the driver managed to boost performance of Oblivion, C&C3, and a little game called Grid Wars I've been playing. This driver has worked the better than 165.01, 163.14 and the other driver was 158.45 I believe.

Interesting...Mind you I have never actually run any games on them. I've always just benchmarked them using 3dmark 06 and thought what a lot of bollocks. Seriously, benchmark that driver using 3dmark 06 version 110 which is the free version and you'll soon see what I'm talking about. Unless the problem rests with 3dmark 06 itself. My understanding is that it is Vista compatable with the appropriate patch which I've installed or so their website says. Seriously every driver for Vista I benchmark comes up pants. There is only two according to 3dmark 06 that are worth downloading. 158.45 returns a score of 3488. 163.11 returns a score of 3483. I'm going to wait until Nvidia release their 170.xx series of drivers and then we'll see...

Hi,

I've a problem. I installed forceware 162.18 with a modded .inf and then I started Pro Evolution Soccer 2008. Suddenly came the bluescreen and my notebook rebootet. It's happening always the same when I try to start PES 2008. I've 1GB ram, Intel Core Duo 2.0 GHz (T2500) and a GeForce Go 7400. What can I do???? Where's the problem?? Is it a driver problem?? Should I install a newer driver.
