Guyver1
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE will you start including all the SLI data in your modded inf's, also can you PLEASE make sure you add the new Go 7950 GTX cards. While SLI maybe high end, some of us DO have 7950 GTX SLI lappies, and we reply on your excellent work to get us the latest drivers, but at the moment your letting some us down by not including relevant portions required to get our SLI setups working :) I tried creating my own inf but screwed it up and didnt get a control panel or sli :/ PLEASE INCLUDE SLI AND THE NEW GO 7950 GTX case in point the new official 32bit XP drivers from nvidia, i tried these, once again no sli :)
Guyver1
the SLI id's from the Alienware driver inf are: %NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0098.3% = nv4_W830_SLI, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0098&SUBSYS_2052161F %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0297.1% = nv4_W830_SLI, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0297&SUBSYS_2052161F %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1% = nv4_W830_SLI, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0298&SUBSYS_2052161F %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1% = nv4_W830_SLI, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0299&SUBSYS_2052161F NVIDIA_G70.DEV_0098.3 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7800 " NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0297.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS" when i downloaded the modded 32bit XP drivers from the forum (162.18 nvidia), i ran thru the inf and these ID's werent in there :)
mobilenvidia
%NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0297.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0297%NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0298 %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1% = nv4_mobile, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0299 NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0297.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS" NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1 = "NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX" This is what is in 162.18 WinXP x86 modded INF as per forum link. I'm not sure what your on about ? The only thing you might try doing is change the above lines to this: %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0297.1% = nv4_MB_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0297%NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0298.1% = nv4_MB_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0298 %NVIDIA_G71.DEV_0299.1% = nv4_MB_NV3x, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0299 This will run the SLI desktop routines in the INF report back here with your findings. Guyver1
no joy sadly. drivers installed fine, changed the line in the inf as you said, but still didnt get any SLI options at all. I've uploaded the Alienware drivers that shipped with the lappy so you can have a nose at the inf: http://www.guyver1.net/stuff/m9750_NVIDIA_....14.10.9423.zip for some reason alienwares inf is called NVAR.inf
®®®
i guess SLI is not working properly is more a NVIDIA/Microsoft driver/direct x problem as seen in this knowledgebase article for VISTA: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=936710
Guyver1
m8 please read the thread properly, this is a 32bit XP thread not a vista thread. this is purely inf related.
mobilenvidia
If it's INF related, do this : Delete/move the orogonal INF that comes with a driver you want to use. Now copy accross NVAR.INF. Use update driver method (not setup.exe) to install the driver. If it workes now = My INF problem No worky = Driver problem SLI should work by it's self, there have been all sorts of iseues with SLI, as you can tell by all the threads on it. If it works I'll take a look, if not no use wasting time on something that will make no difference.
