These drivers seem to be performing a little bit better than the 163.11's on my XPS m1330 with the 8400m GS. I had to mod the .inf myself with the 2 lines in order for them to install though, hopefully the LV2Go modded .inf file will be out soon!

These drivers seem pretty decent, but still no external DVI support on my MacBook Pro (Santa Rosa) running the 8600M under bootcamp.

Everything is still 1024x760 for external montors via DVI. Bummer.

Does anyone know if this is a know bug that they intend to address?

Hey.. Great site! :)

Anyway, just wanted to let you know the link to the modded inf above is wrong. I figured out where it was at on the server though and I'm getting an error that it can't find a file during the driver upgrade while doing the have disk method. I'm on vista 32bit with a GO 7900 GS on a dell e1705. Vista says:

"Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. The system cannot find the file specified."

All I did was extract the driver from the link above to a folder then put the inf into the same folder and did the have disk. Unfortunately, Vista isn't verbose enough to tell me exactly which file it can't find :)

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer!

make sure you copy the modified inf over the original and use the setup file that is included in the folder

Hello

i have from 2 days an Acer Aspire 7520 with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M G (256MB). In the supported card list there are:

[DEV_0421] NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT

[DEV_0422] NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS

[DEV_0423] NVIDIA GeForce 8300 GS

[DEV_0424] NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS

there is not the 8400 G but 2 times the "8400 GS" is written. Can i install the driver anyway?

if you download the modded inf then you can use the driver, the cards listed are supported by the orginal inf which means if your card is on that list, then you wouldnt need to modded inf

I got the same error...I just can not figure out what you are trying to say is the solution....

I have used modded INF's before, and have modded my own in the past...

This has me stumped....I am actually getting a similar error message from a new BT card I am trying to install...

Oh sorry.. I didn't say I had a solution. One guy above mentioned using the setup.exe to install, didn't know that was a good option with a modded inf. I'll try that now. I only tried using the have disk method. (This is my first modded inf install.. If that wasn't already obvious :) )

The file not found error may be the same as the error I had when I was trying to install 162.22. Basically, the inf is trying to find a file thats not included with the english forceware drivers. The file is in the international versions of the drivers. If you can get the international executable, extract the files and then copy over the modified inf then the install should work.

Ok.. Yeah, something definitely tweaked out here. I tried the setup.exe with the modded inf in the directory. It said it needed to remove the old driver and reboot, it got stuck at a black screen. I left it for about 10 mins and no change so I manually reset. Machine restarted and the old driver was installed still. So I did the old "switch it the the standard vga" driver and then tried installing via the setup.exe.. Said driver was installed and to restart. Restarted. .. Same old driver.

I also did find the international version of this driver set (50+ meg) and it also says it cant find a file during the have disk method. I'm stumped with this driver. I give up. I'll try a previous version I suppose. It may work with a different gpu or something but not with my set up.

Are you sure it's an multilanguage VISTA driver you found?

I have no luck installing this drivers. It's the firts time I have this problem, I always had smooth installs with nvidia driver + modded inf. This time setup performs (TOO QUICKLY, DON'T ASK ABOUT INSTALLING UNSIGNED DRIVER) and I end with "nvidia 7400 go Microsoft WDDM".

Is the modded inf wrong or it is just me?

This will cause no problems. These were not included in this driver package, so i removed reference to it from the INF and reuploaded for your convenience.

Installation process was fine, but failed to install drivers on Quadro NVS 110M (Toshiba Tecra M5)--machine was left with "Standard VGA driver." nVidia Control Panel was also not present.

INF has been remade for this driver, now installs as it should (tested)

mine still gives me the "another drive is installed click here to uninstall driver then restart computer" message, then when it restarts it gives me the exact same message again...

I was able to install these just fine, but immediately after it said the drivers had been installed, and I was going to restart my computer....I got a BSOD.

Guest Ominous Ann

Those drivers installed fine on an Dell Inspiron 1705 (aka 9400). However, I noticed several problems:

- laggy playback until reboot; this might be due to a 162.50 interfering though

- this driver is definitely buggy for me; I always get a display corrupt where every colum of 8 (or something) is swapped. Using a video player/game, the display is properly reset until it happens like 10 minutes later

Installation went fine here also on an HP nw9440 laptop with Quadro FX 1500M, but same effect as "Ominous Ann": screen occasionally gets garbled

The Powermizer does NOT work.

You wrote on the front page that this driver has these tweaks, but the clocks are always the same (300, 600).

Media player classic takes longer to start playing movies. And my TV tuner software also starts much longer time.

But on the other hand the software of my Avermedia TV tuner is now working with AERO. With other drivers it was always switching Windows to Basic Theme.

this driver is definately buggy. I tried it and when I play video I get a thin horizontal distortion line in the middle of the video when I do it fullscreen

7700 mobile on asus g1: seems to be better the nvidia 3d logo quality, but slower video loading (xvid on wmp11 for example).

i didn't try anything else at the moment, but wait for bioshock...
