How to enable aero and sli in VISTA with 100 series drivers and Go 7900 GS

For those of you using the 100.x series drivers in Vista 32bit, are you getting Aero to work? I can't get Aero to turn on on my Geforce Go 7900 GS. This is an m9700 laptop, with two cards. Whenever I run the performance assessment it doesn't complete due to an error (which it doesn't describe).

How are you getting Aero to work?

I'm using these drivers and the steps I took to turn on Aero are as follows:

Control Panel -> Personalization -> Window color and Appearance -> Use classic something or other. That lets you manually set Aero.

I finally got Aero to work - the only way I can get the Aero colors / theme/ whatever you call it to be available is to disable the second graphics card, uninstall and delete the driver, install the correct graphics driver for the main card, reboot, and tell windows to never try to install a driver for the second card.

This works on 100.40, 100.51, and 100.59, as far as I have tested. I have not yet determined which driver gives me the best performance - any comparisons/benchmarks people have to offer would be much appreciated.

I hope that nVidia figures this issue out soon.

Nolan, I have that exact setup and what works for me is to install the new drivers in safe mode. For all the release 100's it seems to have a problem updating the files for the second card when they are in use and safe mode of course doesn't use the driver files...mine usually just turns it off on its own and continues the install though. I would definitely recommend the 100.59 update for the m9700 though it is the only driver so far I haven't had some kind of issue with in Vista. I can finally run BF again with this one! :)
