Mrred Posted August 9, 2007 Report Share Posted August 9, 2007 Hey everyone, I have a dell inspirion 1520, intel core 2 duo T7500 2.2 ghz, 2 GB, 8600m Gt 256mb, windows vista business running laptop videos 165.01 drivers. Fear is unplayable on all settings, it runs at a near slideshow right when the splash screen fades and the sierra logo video begins. Guest Necroams Posted August 9, 2007 Report Share Posted August 9, 2007 There is something seriously wrong if you can't play FEAR even on low settings with that, my dated dimension PC with a PCI 9250 video card, 2Ghz P4, and 512MB of RAM can run FEAR well on the lowest settings. I suppose it could be anything from bad drivers, to faulty RAM, overheating (broken fan? using the laptop on a surface that doesn't allow it to cool properly?) or another hardware problem. *edit* Try reinstalling FEAR, using an older driver (dig around here for ones known to work well with your video card), making sure the game is patched to the latest version, and see how well it runs other games it should be able to handle (remember you can usually get demos if you don't have any). Except i hear the Xtreme-G drivers are the best for 163.14, but i cant seem to find them anywhere, as tweaksrus dosent ever load for me. Link anyone?
