Capt221 Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 Hey guys, I've used this site a couple of times over the past couple of years to get the most out of my Toshiba Satellite 5205-S503. Sadly, it has died. The fan has died for the 3rd time, and now it is no longer under warranty. It makes some awful noises. Unfortunately, that's far from the only problem with my old friend and companion. Both hinges are broken so it lays flat open. Among many other cosmetic issues - screen has some artifacts, etc. I really like my laptop...but mostly I'm too poor to buy another one. I like how it performs, I had ubuntu installed and it was running great, and as always XP still runs fine. I don't care about the screen, but I need a case and fan. Does anyone have one that's a giant paperweight that they might be willing to sell me. As I mentioned - poor student, so I am probably looking for someone in the US because I think shipping it from anywhere else would be prohibitive.
