cultavix
Hello notebook mates, I have a Dell D800, 2.1 GHZ Centrino, 1GB RAM with a Geforce FX 5200 Go 64MB.... Once I turn my computer on in the morning my games run INCREDIBLY WELL but after about an hour... they jitter and stall for a few miliseconds every few steps in ANY FPS... and RTS games I cant even play... What could be causing this?? I have put two robber things in the back so the bottom of my laptop has much more air and so it doesnt get so hot... could this be fixed with a driver??? how can I fix this ??? should I turn down the clocking ??? PLEASE HELP!! PS- I have 2 adapters the one that came with my laptop, the normal dell one...and then I have one for my dell XPS... this one is bigger and I think the power output is a little higher but it works fine on this D800... could that be the problem?? PLEASE HELP! FORGOT : ---- 67.66 DRIVERS and Larry's config... (the one for the 5150 laptop with the FX 5200) 6 Edited August 31, 2007 by cultavix
mobilenvidia
Fans and heatsink aew probably filled with Dust and heat is your enemy. Can of compressed air and blow some air in all the vents especially the CPU/GPU one. Maybe een take the keyboard out if your game
cultavix
Thank you for your recomendation... unfortunately I dont have another keyboard to use lol... But I will clean my vents out again... Could this have ANYTHING to do with the fact that I dont use the factory DELL driver? and that I use the forceware ones from this site with the driver mods for this card? Also, can I underclock my card to actually lower the heat?
smax
He meant take your keyboard out, clean really well under it and replace it... Not take your keyboard out and leave it out. ...I think.

smax
I read it "take the keyboard out if you're game." Most people wouldn't want to rip apart their computer... If you want to take out your keyboard and clean under it, go for it.
