c1nder
I looked at the MXM list and I see the G-series from MSI there that supports MXM, however, my laptop is the performance edition. Does it still support the MXM module? And I suspect it is a type-II. Anyone have any idea? Thanks.
Ice-Tea
As far as I know it's still MXM. Dunno about the type though. Could be Type III.
c1nder
Awesome. Thanks. Do you know of the cards I could upgrade to in the future with this system assuming it is a type III?
Ice-Tea
Always trial and error I guess... But the 8700 might work. And the next gen 9600 might work. .And..
c1nder
So just as long as it fits it should work. Cool. Thanks.
Ice-Tea
Nonononono... It's never that easy. Per example: 8600 cards seem to be incompatible with older MXM platforms. The 8700 is a different thermal class, so even if it fits your notebook may not be able to handle it. Maybe they will not use MXM for the next gen GPUs, maybe... That's why I sauid trial and error.
