Guest Mike
The INF should work for all AR chipsets, EXCEPT USB ones, these require special drivers as in another link. It doesn't have my wireless PCI card in the INF though... which may be why it has a serious problem when it's not connected to router. Could someone add my device to the INF or advise me on how to do it please? Here's info on the card: Device Properties Device Description NETGEAR WG311 802.11g Wireless PCI Adapter Bus Type PCI Bus / Device / Function 3 / 1 / 0 Device ID 168C-0013 Subsystem ID 1385-4900 Device Class 0200 (Ethernet Controller) Revision 01 Fast Back-to-Back Transactions Supported, Disabled Device Features 66 MHz Operation Not Supported Bus Mastering Disabled Here's link to the inf and driver

mobilenvidia
mobilenvidia will you help me please? I've had a look at your setup. Device ID: 168C-0013 Is supported in the modded INF, so using this you should be able to install the newer drivers

What OS are you using a little confusing, were in the XP thread and you mentioned Win 7 Earlier. You can try and of the Modded drivers that suits your OS. The driver is included with the INF download You will need to update the driver manually via Device Manager.
Guest Mike
I'm using XP, I was running both at one point but now just XP. So if I use the modded INF for XP (v7.7.0.259 with modded INF v1.26 for both WinXP x86 and x64 is the latest I assume) then will I be able to use my athw.sys v7.7.0.481 driver? If I can't then can I add my device into the INF file that came with my 7.7.0.481 or will that not work?

Guest Guest
Latest Driver Version 7.7.0.481 for XP (7.7.0.498 don't work on my XP, must be vista only) Download here. It's working without issues for me. I just had to add my NETGEAR 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter WG311 into the .inf before installing/updating the driver. :)

hwally
I have windows XP PRO. I also have a Atheros AR5BXB72 wireless card. I've seen AR5008 associated with it but it doesn't say AR5008 on the chipset. You have a long list of downloads but I'm not sure which is the one I need. Any suggestions? I'd also appreciate you pointing me in the right direction for installing this. I've tried other downloads but they wouldn't install. thanks in advance
