Hello there ..

I tried connecting my Laptop : HP Pavilion dv8371ea with Nvidia GO 7600 GPU to my LCD TV - Toshiba 32" - Running Windows XP Home 32bit

anyways On my PC I have Nvidia 7600GT which I got with an S-video (7 pins) to Component (Red\Green\Blue Cable) Adappter..

I connected my PC to the TV with no problem ..

but on my Laptop .. I dont have the Component Option in the TV Output options ..

I only have Auto Select\Composite\S-Video

When I connect the Go7600 to the LCD TV I get a 1024x768 purple\gray image ..

How do I fix it ?

also - when I connected the LCD TV to the laptop's VGA to VGA the LCD had a flickering black screen .. - No image at all .. I tried pressing the FN+F4 button but still.. black screen flickering like its sendin' the signal on and off ..

has any1 had experience with that ?

Does the Go7600 GPU even supports Component Cable and 1080\HDTV resolutions ?

hey buddy ,, i have HP dv9000t with nvidia 7600 Go 256 MB....

yeah Go7600 whole heartedly supports component cable and 1080p HDTV res..infact it is capable of even more....(after all getting a rating of 4.7 - 4.9 in Vista isnt a joke. ne ways) re install ur driver or use another drivers... it will fix it up most probably... because Microsoft has manually customized 7600 Go drivers to suit Windows Vista and in the process damaged some of its features.... use this site only to download 162.50 WHQL certified version driver for Vista... this will fix most probably...

Hey :) Thanks ..

What driver do you use ?

Im running XP Home edition x32bit :)

and I tried with the original drivers and the updated drivers from HP but still no luck ..

have you gotten some special cable\adapter with your Laptop ?

how do I completely remove all Nvidia drivers from this laptop ?

I tried guru3d-driversweeper and afterwards tried installing some other drivers but with no luck ..

Its so frustrating that I cant use the Component cable ! :P

Edit :

Ive uninstalled Nvidia Drivers ... Then used Driver Sweeper ... then Installed 162.50 .. but it still dont read my TV has HDTV ... nor shows a component cable option :P

Edit2 :

Here some thread\driver which kinda relate to my issue with the HDTV :

hmmm no dude i didnt get ne component cable frm HP....i borrowed it frm mah frnd..lolzz...

moreover, try the nvidia control panel and explore some settings out there.....

u sure na u r using HDMI port only?? because S - Video cable will NOT support HD res...(1080p)....

and yes i use 162.50 WHQL certified drivers..... both the HP and Windows Update drivers are old (98.xx) too bad... :)

hmm ..

well .... I use an 7pin s-video adapter which I got with my 7600GT ... and now I use similar adapter which I my friend got with his 8800GT ..

my had 7pin s-video -> component

he had 7pin s-video -> component + 4pin s-video

anyways the 7pin s-video supports HD res. ...

it just that the Component option doesnt appear on my NVIDIA control panel and believe me I looks for it ..

I only have S-video option and Composite option ...

how do I make the Component option to appear ?
