Pieter -- What is the best Geforce 440 Go drvr for Dell8200?

I have 44.03 installed but you say 45.91 is best but the link you have is

in french and seems to be designed for a toshiba.

Can you post a 45.91 link in English and for a DEll?

Or email to me at PalardoPro@MSN.COM

dl the driver ( http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/su...s/pm200vidx.exe ) !,

extract it (press you "dont want to start setup.exe after extraction"),

replace the original inf with the one from Pieters site.

Then uninstall the old driver through Add/Remove Software,

reboot,

install the new driver with the "Have disk"-method and chosse the folder where you extracted the toshiba driver distibution with the replaced inf from Pieter.

thats it

Palardo,

All my INFs are English only, for max compatability.

So no worries there, 45.91 is the newest driver and hence the most bugs are fixed. It is alas not the fastest driver, this where my other recommended driver comes in (44.68) which is fast and stable.

44.03 is actually with 44.10 the overall fastest Det for 4x0go GPUs.

But I can't get these drivers to work with D3D properly so I don't recomend them to the masses.

So basicly you've got the fastest drivers already installed, 44.68 are probably more stable and only slightly slower.

45.91 are newest 4x.xx drivers.

Drivers are made for all GPU's, the manufacturer put an INF with the driver for their machines.

So a Toshiba made Det works just fine on a Dell and viseversa.

Quite often (44.82 being a good example) the drivers are used for quite a few laptops, just with different INFs.

5x.xx are still under development.

Hope this helps,

Pieter.
