SUBSYS_IDs decoded

Recommended Posts

Today i started a long overdue task to decode the SUBSYS_IDs found in INFs provided by the various manufacturers around the globe. We already knew for a couple of years, that for example TOSHiBA laptops are not always manufactured by TOSHiBA, but also by COMPAL. The same applies to certain Alienware and most of the Gericom branded series. Both are produced by Uniwill. You can easily check that by decoding the INF name that comes with your original driver for your laptop with our Reference List for NVIDIA's ODM/OEM INF naming scheme.

A scheme for the used SUBSYS_IDs is already slowly visible and confirms the above mentioned findings. In order to complete that list we now need your participation.

Please contribute the SUBSYS_ID of your NVIDIA based laptop to the FAQ'd topic HERE. Guest posting is allowed... as all over the forum. If you need help finding the ID, use our NERD hardware audit tool.
