ShadowLeecher
Hello guys, Me and my girlfriend both got our own Insperion 1720 with a Nvidia 8600M GS 256MB's in it. Here i was thinking that a new DirectX 10 Videocard would have been a good choice right. Well so far im not to impressed. I understand that with a 256MB DDR2 card i cant expect games to run smooth on max everything. But i did hope that i could run World in Conflict on some desent frame rates. Which so far has been around 5 to 10 on max settings and 10 to 20 on Medium, and on low its almost 100fps Now ofc i check Dell for new drivers but gues what.... they some what "lag" behind. And i know that Nvidia released new Vista drives just 3 weeks ago to adress a lot of the issues they been having with Vista and Word in Conflict. So i downloaded those but the damm setup would not recognise my card..... So then i found you guys And i see some many diffrente kinds of drivers.... and no clue how to install em. Can you guys help me abit, is it possible to bypass and stile install? Hope for good news! With kind regards, ShadowLeecher
FrozenLord
Hi Welcome on this board :-) I'm using a Dell Laptop and Vista, too. And so far, I've been really happy with these (163.71) drivers: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....=15115&st=0 So that's my recommendation for you :-) Hope, I was of help. Guest JadeIce
Hello ShadowLeecher, Looks like the driver you have recommended is down due to a fault with Nvidia. Is there any other drivers that can help us poor Dell users? My 8600M GT has problems running Oblivion now and its not a happy situation at all. Anyone knows a solution? FrozenLord
Well, the 163.44 and 163.69 are decent drivers, too :-) (I used them, before I changed to 163.71) But for older games, the performance seems best with the 158.24. FrozenLord 158.24 = http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=13257 163.44 = http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=14562 163.69 = http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/index....showtopic=15049

Guest JadeIce
I keep getting an error message saying that none of my hardware is competable to the driver that I want to install. This is getting quite maddening. Anyone knows what is wrong? 8600M GT

Guest JadeIce
Follow the FAQ on how to install the drivers properly. I managed to install 163.44 but I am still having problems with MOHA. Gonna try some others and see if it works.
