Clint_Eastwood
Hi, i´ve got a problem at installing geforce 7600 go in my amilo m1437g (x700). first, i´ve unmounted the heatpipe, then changed the cards. the geforce go 7600 is a little bit bigger then the radeon x700 mobility, put there enough space. after mounting the card and the heatpipe, i tried to the start my laptop, but there´s only the black screen and the fan rises at maximum. is the card broken? wrong vbios? i don´t know what to do, please help! greetz thomas
Guest No idea
While I have no idea, you may want to plug in an external screen on the external VGA or DVI port, that may work better than the built in screen. Again, clueless, but there may be some setting in BIOS you can downgrade that can help you. If it helps, go to a casino afterwards... Ice-Tea
Where did you get it? eBay? There wouldn't happen to be black tape around the GPU, would there?

Ice-Tea
Black tape = Quanta. Quanta cards never work in Fujitsu notebooks.
Clint_Eastwood
Black tape = Quanta. Quanta cards never work in Fujitsu notebooks. This means, it´s impossible to run a quanta card on my amilo??? In which notebooks will these cards work? No Vbios-update etc. will help? Then my only chance is to sell it on someone with a notenbook, it will work, and find a card who will work in my amilo. How is a fitting card for my laptop called? NV-G73M? on the gpu of my card is: GF-GO7600-N-A2
Ice-Tea
If there was a way to solve this then I would not have a big box of Quanta cards that I can only use as paper weights. It may work in some Quanta notebooks but probably only in the exact notebook it comes from as I have tried Quanta's to no avail. As to what cards will work: mine. Clint_Eastwood
Ok, thanks... this means, the only way to upgrade my fujitsu siemens notebook is to find a card, which was in a exploited fujitsu siemens notebook like a Pi1556 etc., is this right? or get one from your shop...but 250 euro are really to much for me...the better solution is to put the 250 euro aside and save it for a new notebook. greetz thomas

quipster
Black tape = Quanta. Quanta cards never work in Fujitsu notebooks. :) Do those Quanta Geforce 7600 cards work in the Uniwill 259 based Notebooks? Or can a faster type II card be expected for this notebook in near future? Thx for any answers
Guest Clint_Eastwood
This card isn´t a quanta card...it seems to be a card from mxm-upgrade or a amilo notebook it think...my quanta card was much bigger an the black tape was around the gpu...this black tape on the picture is only for secure the contacts...i think it would run...greetz

And I believe I've already seen pictures of those Quanta cards somewhere on the web. The thick black tape goes round the gpu core like a bulge on those. Can't find a picture now, but I think I know what they look like, so the one in the picture is definitely non quanta-style.
