colsaunders2
Oh, I would definitely update those drivers - 169.01 is giving me excellent performance. Just to give you an idea for comparison, I can play Crysis (x64 binary, DX9 mode) smoothly at 1280x800 and medium graphics settings.

Guest spudscooking
Hey, I have a 7950GTX too, with a C2D 7600 (2.33ghz), 2GB RAM and Vista Ultimate. On medium settings (Physics and Post Processing high, 1280x 800) I get an average of 18fps. This seems quite unreal as I have seen reports of better performance on poorer cards (8600gt the higher of them). I am using 169.02 drivers (The .01 seem unresponsive). When I checked out all at low settings I received the same performance as the OP. Thanks, Spuds
blah238
Common thread is Vista. Try XP. Or the latest 169.04. Edited November 1, 2007 by blah238

Guest okiimatsu
hello, for comparison info i am running the crysis demo on my asus core 2 duo (2gh), 2 gigs ram, and the nvidia go 7700, with the 169.01 driver. i'm averaging 30fps at 1024x768 with all but 3 settings on low. depending on the action and terrain, i can get up to 40-50 fps, and bottom out about 20-25 fps. one app that really seems to help is configuring and running "FSAutoStart", which allocates as much of your systems resources when starting the game. asus hasn't updated their video drivers for this card in over a year, as well as not updating the onboard sound drivers in which i cant find newer ones anywhere. -regards
