GeForce FX and FX Go in Vista

Hi all,

Well, it's almost a year since Vista's RTM, and I am still wondering whether we'll ever see any new drivers supporting the GeForce FX and FX Go.

My laptop's got a GeForce FX Go 5200 with 32M RAM, and i am still stuck using driver 97.52.

NVidia's statement a long time ago promised support in future drivers, but they have yet to surface.

Does anyone have any tips or thoughts on this subject?

Cheers,

Matt

Well, you can always try installing newer modded drivers. They may have given up on support of those GPUs. It is strange how there are much newer XP drivers, but they may not actually be new drivers at all (just a new package).

I've found the 163.xx series to work well with my FX Go5200.

About once a month I try out the latest modded drivers - I've found that every new driver past version 100 hasn't worked. Recent ones dont even start at all - after reboot it says the driver failed to start.

Can you tell me which driver exactly you used? :)

163.75 Vista 32 bit. - Remember you need to replace the driver's inf with our modded one (in case you didn't already know that).

I downloaded the driver and the modded inf, installed the driver, rebooted, and device manager says that the "device reported problems and cannot start" :)
