arstinince
hey everyone, ive tied several drivers here and i cant seem to find one that works for my system. with every driver/inf i try it installs and restarts and then it restarts indefinitely. i have to load windows in safemode and remove the driver. the only one that works is the one available at the hp website but i know that it isnt the lastest driver. my system runs games with a very low framerate. Please Help! nvidia go 6150 amd turion dual core 2gb ram win xp 32bit Edited November 2, 2007 by arstinince
Guest huggypoo
yeah man im having the exact same problem, im on vista though, 32 bit, ive tried just about every driver that is compatable with the geforce go 6150 and every single time I install it my computer restarts itself and I have to boot from "last known good configuration". I've tried installing both with the havedisk method and the regular setup with the modded inf and both have the same effect. It starts the installation and after I click "install this software anyway" the laptop screen flickers and shows a lower resolution(which from my experience is supposed to happen when installing new video drivers) then the screen goes black and just restarts. I've looked all over the forums and theres absolutely no posts/FAQ's addressing this problem, and ive seen a bunch of posts from ppl with the same setup as me having the same problem. I know that the 6150 isnt meant for gaming but im still getting about 15-35 fps in TF2 on low settings, im just looking for some drivers to improve performance just a little, so I can atleast put my resolution up. at the moment my drivers are the ones right from the HP website, which seem to be the only ones that will even install without any problems. All the drivers ive tried have the 6150 listed in which cards work with it so im kinda stuck... been looking around the site for weeks searching for a fix for this. Any/all help would be appreciated! im desperate!

Guest graybandit
Hey All - I've been having similar issues as well. First, here's the machine: Presario F557us 1.8ghz Sempron 1.5gb RAM Geforce Go 6150 (128mb allocated RAM) Vista Home Basic Other than the stock driver, it absolutely refuses to accept most nvidia drivers. Sometimes I've had success, but not often. Usually I have to restart in safe mode and whack the new driver, then rollback. However, i've had good results with 162.18 for Vista. With this driver, I've been running all kinds of crazy things. For example: Unreal Tournament 3 demo, 800x600, level 2 details (excellent performance!) ET: Quake Wars, autodetect all (can't remember my exact settings right now) FEAR Extraction Point Demo, 640x480, autodetect (playable but not good) FEAR Perseus Demo, 640x480, autodetect (same as other) Battlefield 2 Demo, 800x600, low So not stellar, but hey, more than i'd expect from this machine (I got it for $350 from Circuit City) I'll keep trying to upgrade drivers, but I don't expect much of a bump from even newer ones. 162.18 seems to work just fine. Best of luck. Ryan
