Ferender
Hey!! Without overclocking the grafic card i get 80ºC on full grafic load.. (in games and stuff like that) Is it normal? Cuz i can´t feel any source of heat on the notebook.. It´s normally "cold".. So i did it and overclocked it! from 475 to 575.. memory from 400 to 500.. So i ran 3dmark06 5 times in row to test stability and there was no errors or any graficbugs.. (yes i stayed the whole time watching it to check any graphic errors) But the Temp showed in rivatuner and atitool 0.26 was 96!! (MAX). Still i didn't found any heat spots on the notebook.. I'm running on 169.04 and have a 512mb ddr2 8600m gt with 2gb ddr2 667 and a t7500.. without OC i get 3800marks06 with the OC i get 4300 o.O.. (this driver really boost performance!!) So what can be the reason for the high temps? Maybe just wrong information? Or should i contact the vendor? I have a second need for help :) Unplugged my notebook don´t change to performance 3D clocks and stay on the poor 2d clocks.. (like 169 100) Can´t i make it run on battery with normal 3D clocks? (400 475) Does it affect greatly the battery runtime? Thanks you :)
Guest the_duality
Im running an Acer 5920G with 8600M GT and heat is an issue for me too. I find that playing games with an overclock to 620/500 can bring it up to about 90C. How can i reduce heat?

Guest James
Im getting a Zalman ZM-NC1000 Ultra Quiet Notebook Cooler in the next week or so. I overclock to 680/520 and get temps of 80c at the highest while playing Crysis. The cooler will help alot
Vashts121
I have a Compal 8600m GT, and mine never goes above 78c OC'ed. I have mine OC'ed to 640/1425/486 and I have a laptop cooler. What I suggest you do is get a laptop cooler, open your laptop compartment (the biggest one with the most screws), and clean ALL dust, dust is a major contributor to heat. While you're there, put some thermal paste onto your cpu/gpu, and you should be good.
