Toshiba M30 BIOS v1.70

Found this the other night:

http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/...70807154017.zip

It appears the North American version for this unit stopped at 1.50, however the EU version is relatively new at 1.70.

I working on getting my M30 flashed but the Windows flash utility doesn't seem to like Vista.

If anyone has gotten this to work, I'd love to hear about it.

:dontknow:Is your system Centrino or Pentium M ? I have just updated from 1,3 to 1,7 BIOS version and after laptop running for 30mins or wireless stops working. On reboot the flash screen at the BIOS startup shows a Pentium M logo instead of the Centrino one that boots every other time I am not having problems. there is also a message saying "conflict" then a "boot" or "Setup" button options. If I turn off and come back 20 mins later it boots to the Centrino bios screen and up and running properly. Something must have gone screwy when updating BIOS and now I don't know how to roll back or force another install

any ideas? :)

  • 2 months later...

It's working fine for me. But I found out the following: as soon as you change your WLAN device (whether you remove it, or replace it with another, even if the other one is an intel module) the laptop is not centrino certified anymore, so logically, it will display the Pentium M logo instead of the centrino logo.

How is this interesting for you?

I would recommend checking if the wireless module is placed correctly in the (mini)pci slot. It sounds to me like there might be a less than optimal connection...
