No DX10 option for a DX10 GPU

As the title says, I have a 8600M GT that is said to play DX10 games. I have tried many different games all of which have the DX10 option grayed out.

Do you think it could be my Graphic Driver? (i have the ones it shipped with)...

Any other thoughts?

Edit: Also. Nvidia Control Panel says I have Forceware version 101.08

If you need any other information I would be more than willing to help.

Have you given some more recent drivers a try (from this site)? They have fixed a load of bugs since that driver. That's my suggestion.

Maybe a stupid question, but you are running vista?

What games have you tried?

You really should upgrade your drivers to a 156.xx or 169.xx series

You definitely want 169.04 if your running Crysis.

Although with just a single 8600M GT it will run very slowly using DX 10 graphics effects. (at least with the demo)

I was thinking about trying these drivers? But all the warning messages about unstable aspects made me hold off...

And yes, Home Premium.

I wish i was running XP though, that would be a simple solution to why its not working hu? lol

Ok, I will try upgrading tonight i guess.

I have tried both COH's (after the DX10 patch) and BioShock. Both games have the option grayed out.
