crazygravy
I tried downloading and updating my driver for my Sony Laptop VGN-FZ290, Core 2 Duo 2.0, video card 8400M GT and received an error. I followed the steps exactly including using the modifed .inf. I have attached a Prt Screen of the actual error. Is this not the correct driver or? xenogears
is this good driver to play Assasins Creed my videocard is 8400M GS? Or there are better drivers for this game? Well Assassins Creed is a really video card eater, i have 8400GT and this drivers increase in 30% approx my video performance against original drivers, i have a VGN AR620e with 4gb, 2.0 Core 2 duo, 4,8 in Windows experience Index and i can tell you, Assassins Creed barely can run acceptable on this machine, Bioshock at 1440x900 with everything On play really good, Crysis at medium quality, Call Of duty 4 at Higest Res at full run nice too!! I really recommend this drivers, excellent work!!

delolith
This driver is incorrect. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21Z with Nvidia 8600M GS ddr3 256MB. This driver was provided from company I think and it did install correcrly. Now that I downloaded from this site it gives me the error of no appropriate driver could be found for your hardware. If I try to do it manually then it gives me the option of only 8400M GS +GT and 8600M GT, no 8600GS. The problem is I cannot use the moded inf file cause it breaks the WHQL and my blu-rays do not work. Any kind of help would be appriciated. Also tried to download from original drivers from Sony and there are none there. S.O.S please... Guest Guest
Hi. I am not good for this thing, and i have the same problem as many of you. I have bought a sony vaio vgn fz250fe (latin america designation), and it come with a nvidia geforce 8400M GT gpu, so the first time i used the laptop i got optional drivers aviable for download from windows update, it gave me plus 0.3 points in my windows experience, placing the score up to 4.1, really nice performance. When i boot up th hole system i got all the updates except for the otional Nvidia driver. So i found out this 167.43 is the version i had. The problem is the next: As i allready told you i am not familiarized with drivers, i would like to know step by step how to install the drivers, i alredy downloaded it, and do i need the inf. file?). Thanks a lot. This is killing me.

Hailie
Sorry for such a silly question :) Modded inf. is nvsz.inf, while in installed folder it's nvcv.inf Does it mean I have to rename the modded file and then replace it? Dox
just delete the defualt inf in the folder. and put the modded inf into there instead. then run setup.exe to install.
usafespinosa
i have a Toshiba Satellite x205 S9800 with Nvidia GeForce 8700M GT, Will this driver work on it?
SciFer
Just wondering the same here, will this driver work on a Dell XPS M170? It's a GO 7800 GTX. Running Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I currently have 167.45 and am able to playback blu-ray movies but very very choppy. I installed the have disk way. I'm assuming its because its a non-WHQL driver. Since this driver is WHQL I'm hoping this will make the difference. Can anyone confirm this or am I wasting my time with theory? I tried this sony driver, since my vid card is listed but it gives me an error "Windows encountered an error while attempting to install" "The system cannot find the specified file". I was the using have disk method and tried all INFs (modded, orig in folder and in a original zip). Any feed back would be appreciated Thanks Edited June 21, 2008 by SciFer
Guest Johnson
Hi All, I have a sony fz11z with a 8400M GT card and found this site in an effort to fix the jerky picture I was experiencing playing BluRay discs. In the beginning of this post it says that the 8400M GT is supported in the standard inf. Only when installing the standard inf you get to select from a list of cards which the 8400M GT isnt included. The list looks like this: NIVIDIA GeForce 8400M G NIVIDIA GeForce 8400M G NIVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT NIVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT and so on. Should I choose the 8400M G or the 8600M GT, neither are correct for the card but which would be best? Thanks alot..

InnoASatana
Alright, the last relevant post for this thread was in September, and I was wondering if Sony or anyone has released better drivers for their laptop based Nvidia cards. I've been using a VGN-SZ3HP with a Geforce Go 7400, and the 32-bit Vista OS for over a year now and I've had no problems up until a week ago where I suddenly started getting the BSOD and the 'nvlddmkm display driver' problem, followed by the psychedelic boot screen lines/constant rebooting, so I was hoping better drivers might do the trick. Any help or suggestions would be of great help, thank you.
