standby & hibernate troubles

I've got a Dell Inspiron 1520, XP Pro, Nvidia 8400m gt card

When i installed the "nVIDIA ForceWare X 165.01 for Windows XP/2K 32bit" driver

my Standby and Hibernation stopped working

I tried going back to the previous diver (163.75 i think) (where S&H were working) but it didn't help

So then i tired going into the mod'ed nv4_disp.inf and changing the value from 3, to 2

(HKR,, MapOSD3ToNV, %REG_DWORD%, 3)

I uninstalled the video card, then reinstalled 165.01 with this tweaked .inf and still no go

so i made the same tweak on the previous driver i was using and loaded that one up

Still no Standby or Hibernation

Anyone help or suggestions would be appreciated

i got the same issue with that driver.

try to reinstall it properly (safety mode, driver sweeper... :) ) and then use another driver that fixed it for me:)

oh

i didnt know i was uninstalling it the wrong way

I went and got that program "driver sweeper"

so i boot into safe mode, start it up, and move NVIDIA - Display to the Reove area

then hit the broom?

i went back to the old driver the right way

and now i'm good to go
