Guest Court
Playing any game I get texture problems (example 1) and random polygons (example 2). This has been happening ever since I have had the laptop, under clocking, over clocking, reinstalling, changing video drivers, flashing bios seem to have no effect. The only thing that fixes it is alt-tabbing or changing the resolution. But, even then, it usually returns instantly or after a few minutes. I have an Asus A8JM w/ Nvidia 7600. Anyone able to help? Screenshots: Example 1 http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff188/c...re/example1.jpg Example 2 http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff188/c...re/example2.jpg I also get this when playing WoW:
Guest enigmacolossus
you could have one of the following : 1. dying GPU : solution send back laptop to manufacturer to get it fixed 2. out dated drivers : solution; uninstall drivers, log into safe mode, use CCleaner and or Drivercleaner to remove Nvidia related files, then log back into normal mode and install drivers(see faq on this site on how to) 3. overheating gpu : solution; clean vents and or if possible replace thermal gel/paste/compound with arctic silver thermal compound

Its been doing it since I bought the laptop over 1.5 years ago. 2. Been there done that. 3. Thats what I thought too, using EVEREST, I was monitoring my GPU heat and it seemed to start doing it when it reached a certain point, or around it. I bought a chillpad and even thought it was running at a lower degree, it still had problems. Anything else? Keep in mind its a laptop and I don't think I will be replacing any thermal gel ;p

I just replaced the thermal gel on my clevo 900k. It was easy and almost hassle free.
