Just got the same lappy! Most solidly built, cool and silent running laptop ive ever used. Im checking the bench on mine now too. With the quadro drivers in xp, in crysis i get 20ish fps full very high settings 1280x1024. Im now going to try with modded 8700m gt crysis drivers...

Also, id like to use vista, but i hate it and the fps drops by like 10 frames...so i guess we will have to wait till drivers mature.

The original driver seems pretty slow, the newer HP driver is much faster in benchmarks.

It gives 14% / 4,7% / 2,2% increase.

My Results with Vista Business 64 bit, 2.2 GHz, Nvidia Quadro FX 1600M (default clock)

9277 - Default HP Quadro Drivers (101.63)

9800 - Newest Hp Quadro Drivers (156.31)

9599 - Newest 8700M GT Drivers (169.12)

9851 - Newest Quadro Drivers (169.12)

The best so far are the newest set of drivers from Nvidia.

Tests were all done on 3dmark05.

Update to the above post. A score of 9901 was achieved using the same newest quadro drivers after a wipe of all nvidia related software and then a clean install of the driver. With a few tweaks this should break 10000 with an overclock.

Force bounced back to 101.63 - and it did overclock with NTune:

fast test 650/853 gave 9790 on 3DMark05 (and fan at full speed I think).

After the system force installed that old driver I tried 156.87 (which claimed to be older!).

And it didn't overclock. S#¤t!

Back in business: 169.04 remarkable results and it overclocks (missing CPL =>had to use RivaTuner)

OK, had to make a brief OC test to break the 5k barrier on 3DMark06 :)

Tried overclocking - this is quite a monster clocker. Default 625/800, accepts at least 740/1000 - but GFX errors start to creep in, probably this is enough - at least for the memory I think. Got about 1000 points more in 3DMark06.

Hey, this are some interesting results. We're do you use your laptop really for in daily life? (me Autodesk Inventor).

Nothing constructive. Just browsing, trying drivers, organizing my photos and a little gaming. This was the only one laptop model available here with better than go8600 GFX (SLI excluded), so easy to choose. The only minus is that you need a big removable drive very soon.

Now 173.65 tried - a little faster, overclocks on AC power.

173.80 tried. One bluescreen so far; perhaps a little slower than the preceeding driver.
