I told em I was having graphical issues, poor performace and that my LCD had missing pixels... they replaced my LCD and GFC card....

Funny addition to the story... Dell is now replacing my whole system :) So im getting a brand new one in 5-7 buisness days... which is nice..

How many days before you received the new one ?

And all the things you told us was real ?

Valkirie...The BIOS you linked to, can you elaborate on exactly what you've done to it as far as what model 8600m GT you have, what notebook you run it in and do you have any way to prove that the 3D Voltage actually changed from 1.2v to 1.7v???? 1.7v should hurt his card. I tried changing mine from 1.2v to 1.3v and there was zero change.

* Memory TYPE (DDR2 - DDR3): DDR2 (Bottom side memory passively cooled).

* GPU: 550

* Memory Frequencies: 1200/475

* Modded Inf: Yes

* Drivers: 169.04

* Temperature: 60C Idle, 85 ~ 90C Load

* Stability: 110%

* Tools used: RivaTuner

* Tweaks or things Enable/Disable: VSync is always off.

You're right, that was not hurting card, only killing it, mine get killed, but get replaced this morning.

------------------------------------------------------

I've removed the link.

Anyway, my new card allow me to get to: 625/525 Full stability. Anyway, changing the voltage wont boost your perf but only allow you to get far in the overclocking or to help the stability.

I'm gonna try some new voltage, but will never raised 1.4volt. Why not trying some things. Unleash the 8600M GT firestorm !

* GPU: 512MB 8600MGT

* Frequencies: Core: 454, Memory: 650, Shader: 1425

* Temperature: 57C Idle and 90C Stressed

* Stability: 100%

* Tools used: Riva Tuner 2.06

* OS: Windows Vista 64Bit

3DMark06 Professional 1.1.0 results running all tests:

* 1024x768: 5028

* 1280x1024: 4007

I haven't tested these settings in any game yet. So maybe stability is not 100% accurate.

Hi to everyone! I'm trying to overclock my GPU with Rivatuner but I'm facing the famous nvlddmkm.sys error in 3DMark06 and in video games! As I can see some guys' here vBIOS version is 60.84.50.00.02, but mine is 60.84.41.00.18. Could someone please tell me where I can find this version in order to give it a try? Also I would like to know what are your settings in nVidia control panel.Last question:in my control panel driver version is listed as 6.15.11.6909 although it's actually 7.15.11.6909. Does this also happen to you? Sorry for posting in this topic but you guys have succssefully overclocked your GPU, so I want to try the same configuration as you to find out if this also works for me!

Any help appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!

my clocks are 600/1200/450

if i go higher than 450 mhz memory clock .the driver stop to response and vista returns to original windows vga driver.i have to restart it then.but the card seem to handle 480 mhz easly.anyone know a solution to this?

btw im gettin 4050 points at 3dmax2006 4250 with 480 mhz memory clock

Hey I've got a problem, the frequencies of my 8600M GT are slower than yours, and they are not stable as you can see

sanstitremx4.jpg

This is at the beginning, then it's stable for 5min and then it begins again.

What is the problem ? I've got the DDR3 version, and the default drivers, 156.53 on the Dell XPS M1530

Hello,

I just got a macbook pro for christmas

2.2ghz (santa rosa)

8600m 128mb GDDR3

2gb ram

I am planning on installing bootcamp, windows xp to play some games, and was wondering what drivers some other people were using with this notebook and what kind of performance theyve seen.

Nice! You got yourself a GDDR3 card now huh? I ordered one for my C90S and it arrived today. Been playing with it ever since. I get mad artifacts at 550/800 if I don't have my fan on at 12v which is extremely loud. I'm working on getting around that...still using the stock driver of 101.17, bad I know. I'll move up, just testing for now :]

  • 2 weeks later...

memory : ddr2

GPU 630 MHz

shader 1350 MHz

memory 420 MHz

moded inf yes

drivers 169.09

temp max 60

stability 100%

tool riva tuner 2.06

when i run Crysis with memory overclocked at 440MHz it's crashes, don't know why, maybe my card is not tweakable like other cards or maybe it's drivers fault

as far as i notice nobody is using 169.09 (win vista 32 bit) any ideas??

o and numbers are taken from hardware monitoring, tweaks window shows lower frequencies
